Nicole and Shawn’s winter wedding at Deer Ridge Golf Club was nothing short of electric. With a love for the outdoors and an adventurous spirit, these two planned their wedding in just 11 weeks, a self-described shotgun wedding, before they set off on a new adventure out of province. And as if the day wasn’t already exciting enough, the first big snowstorm of the season decided to crash the party. But not even whiteout conditions and freezing temperatures could dampen the mood, every single guest made it, and the energy in the room was absolutely infectious.

Getting Ready at Home

Nicole started her day at her childhood home on the lake, surrounded by her mom, older sister, and bridesmaids. Music blasted, champagne popped, and the room buzzed with excitement as they got ready together. Nicole’s bridal look was effortlessly classy, wearing a stunning dress, pearl accents, and bold red lipstick that stayed flawless all night. To brace for the winter chill, she rocked white boots with thick wool socks and a faux fur coat, the perfect mix of elegance and practicality.

A Winter Wedding at Deer Ridge Golf Club

With the storm in full force outside, Nicole and Shawn kept their ceremony simple and intimate. They exchanged vows in front of the venue’s massive windows overlooking a snow-covered golf course. The decor was minimal because really, who needs elaborate decorations when nature is putting on a show outside?

Brave Souls in the Storm

Despite the biting wind and swirling snow, Nicole and Shawn braved the elements for a quick portrait session. They were absolute troopers, laughing through the cold as they embraced the winter wonderland around them. There’s something so magical about wedding photos in the snow!

A Party to Remember

Instead of a traditional sit-down dinner, Nicole and Shawn opted for a lively cocktail-style reception with delicious hors-d’oeuvres, oysters and drinks flowing all night. Guests mixed and mingled, the energy never dipped, and the live band kept the dance floor packed. Nicole and Shawn spent the night dancing with each other and their friends, celebrating in the best way possible, surrounded by love, laughter, and a whole lot of fun.

The Perfect Ending

The winter storm may have made travel a challenge, but it only added to the unforgettable atmosphere of the day. Nicole and Shawn’s wedding was proof that love, laughter, and a killer dance floor can warm up even the coldest winter night.
