Urban Desert Wedding at Storehouse 408, Cambridge

This Urban Desert Wedding at Storehouse 408 in Cambridge, Ontario gives me those beautiful boho intimate wedding vibes with a dash of urban flair.

“You want to grab some pizza?” “Yup!”

Sometimes the peachiest photos come from a random idea. But I’m getting ahead of myself.

Last month, I had the opportunity to join in on a styled shoot by the lovely Joni (The Wandering Ivy). She had been thinking about an urban desert themed-wedding for a while, but there’s not a lot of deserts in South Georgian Bay!

But man, did she ever pull it off. There were so many incredible details, like a cactus in the bouquet, sage-coloured plates, hints of gold and concrete. Everything was pulled together so well to make it seem like we were in New Mexico, not in the heart of the Waterloo Region.

Modern venue for an Urban Desert wedding

The styled shoot was held at Storehouse 408 in Cambridge Ontario. It was the perfect setting for this urban desert-themed wedding. It’s got a beautiful black exterior, with one wall clad in reclaimed wood.

The interior has a gorgeous concrete floor and a brick accent wall. Outside on their patio, they’ve got a gorgeous concrete fireplace surrounded by cedars.

Storehouse 408 can host a maximum of 180 people, so it’s the perfect urban venue for an intimate wedding in Ontario.

Meet the Bride and Groom

Nicole and Mike are the champs of the century. Nicole is a wedding photographer herself (Nicole Leigh Photography) and Mike is her assistant/ stay-at-home dad. Mike and Nicole married eight years prior and are parents to two little ones. They were such a fun couple to photograph.

They were up for running, spinning, lifting a-la-Dirty Dancing style and were genuinely joyful during the entire evening.

The joy of having an urban venue, such as the Storehouse 408 is that you are in such close proximity to pizza! Which is how a full pizza pie ended up during the last part of the wedding shoot.

I think they are my favourite photos of the whole event. What’s better than a gown and tux paired with genuine, goofy smiles and pizza?
