That was exactly the vibe for Michaela and Zachary’s day: timeless, emotional, and filled with sweet, simple details that let their love story take center stage.

Simple and Timeless Wedding at Monora Park

Michaela and Zachary's wedding day was so full of sweet moments. All of their people – from wedding party to family members – were so excited for the day, so when I walked in you could just feel the joy. Michaela's grandmother and mother joined the bride and her bridesmaids during get ready, which offered some touching moments between them. For the groomsmen, they had to bring in the big guns – aka, their dads – to help with the ties in the morning.

These two chose to skip the first look and lean into the traditional walk-down-the-aisle moment (and it was absolutely worth the wait). Michaela’s cathedral-length veil floated behind her as she made her way toward Zachary, who had tears in his eyes the moment he saw her. It was such a tender moment, especially when he gently lifted her blusher at the altar. No extra decorations needed; the quiet beauty of Monora Park’s gazebo and surrounding cedar trees framed their vows perfectly.

One of the best moments of the day was when the couple exited the ceremony, they had a little moment to themselves, where they both got really excited about wearing their rings. Their reactions were so cute!

Blue Hour Magic

Michaela and Zachary had simple yet timeless decor. She had bouquet of white roses and baby's breath which was repeated in the bridesmaids’ simple florals and delicate table centerpieces. Every element of the day felt intentional and understated, letting the emotion and connection take the spotlight.

One of my favourite moments of the whole day came just after sunset. We had planned for golden hour portraits, but the timeline ran a little late (as they do!), and instead, we caught the dreamy, romantic tones of blue hour. The clouds were painted in soft pastels, and Michaela and Zachary, now totally relaxed after all the important parts of the wedding day were over, frolicked across the open lawn, laughing and soaking it all in. It was one of those quietly magical parts of the day that felt like a movie in all the best ways.

Documenting Feelings, Not Just Moments

The truth is, beautiful wedding photos aren’t about elaborate decor or picture-perfect timelines. They’re about connection. Michaela and Zachary’s day was living proof that when two people are wildly in love and surrounded by people who adore them, the magic just happens. The laughter, the tears, the quiet in-between glances, all of it radiates on camera. You don’t need a grand venue or over-the-top details. What matters most is the energy you bring into the day (the joy, the emotion, the people who are there to celebrate with you). That’s what makes a wedding truly photogenic.
