There’s something undeniably magical about a snowy winter engagement session, and this one in Confederation Park, Stratford, was no exception. With a fresh blanket of snow covering the ground and soft flakes drifting through the air, the entire session felt like a scene straight out of a romantic film.
Sarah and Owen wanted their engagement session to capture their slice of life as it is right now: being young and in love. They grew up around Stratford and wanted to include their love of the outdoors. We chose to incorporate some fun and play into their snowy engagement session in Stratford.

In Sarah and Owen’s case, the temperatures were plummeting as we were shooting, but we all kept warm with some hand warmers, toques and hot cocoa. And, of course, running around in the snow. That’s what makes it fun.
Dressed in warm layers and matching sweaters, they embraced the chill with smiles and laughter. Playing in the snow just brings out your inner child, and it’s so much fun to just let go and play. This snowy engagement session in Stratford was so playful and reflected Sarah and Owen’s desire to live in the moment, appreciating the everyday little moments. The highlight of the session? Sipping hot cocoa from custom mugs while nestled on a cozy blanket.
We timed the session for the late afternoon when the light was soft and dreamy. The overcast sky acted like a natural diffuser, making the snow glow beautifully in the background. As they walked hand in hand through the park, playfully tossing snow at each other and stealing quiet moments by, every shot tells a story of warmth despite the cold.
Confederation Park is such a fun place for an engagement session. There’s a cool pedestrian bridge, a cute forest and in the summer a water feature. Plus, they have these cute lampposts that look straight out of the Chronicles of Narnia.
