Elora is one of my favourite places to take couples for their engagement session. It’s the cutest picturesque town north of Guelph. Its stone buildings, cedar forests, deep gorge, pretty bridges and the Grand River make for a great backdrop for engagement sessions.

Elora is the perfect place

I have a deep connection to Elora because I grew up just down the road in an even smaller town. I’d visit Elora often, play in the waters and explore deep into the forests.

Because of this, I know a lot of hidden places in and around the town that are the perfect spots to take your photos.

In the fall, Elora comes alive, with many businesses putting out decor for the harvest season.

Natasha & Jonathan

Elora is a special place for Natasha too, as she grew up in a nearby town. Natasha and Jonathan met through work and she was immediately smitten. After 5 and a half years together, he popped the question!

If they could go anywhere and do anything for a dream date, they would travel to the Mediterranean and have a postcard-picture-worthy dinner (with lots of wine!). They also wanted to include some pieces of the Grand River, which they had both grown up near.

So we chose Elora, a place that has the beauty of nature and the prettiness of a small European-esque village.

Starting in the Gorge we took photos in the shadows of the David St Bridge, an iconic symbol of Elora. We played in the leaves and rocks (and almost slipped into the water)

We moved on to Victoria Park, which has some cute spots to explore. We moved on to the town, exploring all the cute stone walls and buildings before moving onto the pedestrian bridge to catch the last rays of sunset.

Natasha and Jonathan wanted to remember how much they were in love, and I think this engagement session captured just that.
