When Annie and Ethan invited me into their home for their engagement session, I knew it was going to be special. From the moment I walked in, it felt like stepping into their world—a space filled with love, laughter, and the kind of cozy vibes that make you want to stay awhile.

These two met in Banff and built a life together full of adventure, humour and an easy kind of love. Their engagement session was all about reflecting who they are as a couple—playful, romantic, and deeply connected. Instead of heading to a typical park or field, I really wanted to create something that felt the most like “them.” When Annie and Ethan told me about their love of cooking, cocktails and their pup Piper, I knew that shooting a cozy in-home engagement session would be the best setting for them.

We spent the afternoon flipping through their favourite records (Neil Young’s Harvest Moon, their wedding song, made an appearance, naturally), pouring wine, and dancing in their living room with the kind of carefree joy that makes you believe in forever. Their pup even joined in, proving once again that every great love story deserves a furry co-star.

Cozy In Home Couples Session

Cooking is one of their favourite things to do together, so we continued the session in the kitchen, laughing over shared memories as they shook up cocktails and started dinner prep. It was relaxed, intimate, and so perfectly them.

Later, we took the session into their backyard, getting a few photos of the two of them on their lovely property.

In Annie’s words, ”Initially, we hadn’t prioritized an engagement shoot… It turned out to be one of the best decisions we made… The resulting photos are some of our all-time favourites!” And honestly, I can’t help but agree.

Annie and Ethan’s session is the perfect reminder of why your engagement photos should reflect *you*. Whether that means slow dancing to your wedding song in the living room or hiking your favourite trail, these photos are meant to capture this chapter of your story in the most authentic way possible.
